Put the knowledge you have acquired into practice here. We look forward to working actively on projects together with you and your ideas. For example, you can also operate our unique test rigs and testing machines. Other thrilling topics among those awaiting you: site assessment, development of digital solutions, system integration of wind energy and hydrogen technology into future energy supply systems.

You get a direct insight into our research and experience for yourself how the close collaboration with universities and colleges as well as industrial partners works in applied research.

We don’t leave you on your own during your time as a student assistant or intern; we offer close supervision and active assistance to support you with your dissertation.

Onboarding program

There is nothing standing in the way of your successful start: we will inform you about the processes at the institute right from day one with a range of events. There are also named contact persons available to answer any questions you have and offer you support. In addition, you also receive instruction in our internal processes.

At IWES, each and every individual makes valuable contributions to the institute’s success. Working together as equals is something which goes without saying for us. We have established flat hierarchies and encourage collaborative, dynamic teamwork.

Networking events

You’re right in the midst of the action here. Alongside “your” team, you will also get to know colleagues from other areas and build up “your” network. For example, in our weekly digital “IWES Forum” and at the staff meetings held at regularly changing locations. 

Payment and vacation

It goes without saying that your work as a student does not go unrewarded. As a student, you receive payment corresponding to the degree and type of employment as well as vacation days.

Flexible working hours

Studying can take up a lot of your time and be truly exhausting – we are well aware of that, and that is why you can coordinate your number of hours and work schedule individually with your team. Together, we will find a way to make it work.

Mobile working 

As a student assistant, you have the option to complete some of your work from home, for example, depending on your duties. We will provide you with the requisite technical equipment. In addition, you can also utilize the institute’s co-working space in Bremen.
